Is it wise to buy a home in Ann Arbor now?

October 25th, 2009 | by David Mueller |

We want to move out of Michigan in four years for sure.

I think it is. Ann Arbor is a great market and with the University there, demand will always be high. That city is much different than other markets in the state. I would bet that bargainhunters could do well there. Looks like a real smart investment area with big returns.

The longer you own it, the more it will make sense.
You can probably find some deals right now…but the best answer is…it depends…….
do you want to live in a house? or do you want to live in the cheapest living arangement possible?
If you want the cheapest thing, just get an apartment. You will probably not recoup your tax and insurance money..there might be enough appreciation to let you pay your realtor, but not that much more., Mi traditionally doesnt appreciate much.

I live in Canton, if you want, buy my house. 1971, 1800 sf, new windows, floors, furnace, appliances, water heater, etc.
